The third project out of Wyoming, one with much anticipation. Kids See Ghost, the collab album we’ve always wanted from Kanye West & Kid Cudi. Kanye is pretty much a machine at this point, going 3 for 3 with the releases as he planned.
We wanted this collab album from these two after we heard the magic they created on 808’s & Heartbreak many years ago. Usually, when the collab project comes about, it falls flat. Ask T-Pain & Lil’ Wayne. Kids See Ghosts... doesn’t. The chemistry that Kanye & Cudi have had for many years is still here and it’s refreshing to see that they haven’t lost a step.
As the past two releases were, it’s only 7 tracks, but in those 7 tracks the duo doesn’t miss. They kick it off with a stellar verse from Pusha-T and from there hit their stride. Kanye gets busy lyrically on “4th Dimension” spitting extra douchebag lines like “It feels so good it should cost/bought a alligator I ain’t talking Lacoste/make me say ughhhhhh like a mix of Master P and Rick Ross.” It’s not the hardest bar ever, but it’s what makes Kanye, Kanye.
The next good thing about this collab is the humming of Kid Cudi. We always want that from him, but the hum over Kanye West production is 2nd to none. The two are still a match made in heaven after all these years, and we’ll enjoy this one for some time to come.
See ghosts above, Kids!
