Dream Doll, started “trouble” when she shared the cover art for her new project, Life In Plastic 2. In the artwork, the Bronx rapper is on an operating table in preparation for what appears to be plastic surgery. Since Dream Doll has historically been open about the work she has had done on her body, many perceived her album cover supporting body augmentation over a more natural shape.
However, as a woman in an industry where many of her counterparts choose not to disclose the fact they had plastic surgery, her album’s artwork could be taken as her accepting herself. Showcasing that plastic surgery can be beneficial is done for the right reasons. Or a clever attack at the standards patriarchy puts on society.
Life In Plastic 2 is set to drop Sept. 7.
